Why do guys on dating apps start the conversation… and then give nothing back?

Just purged a ton of Hinge matches who liked me first and yet after I responded, all I got were dry one liners with zero follow up questions. Like… you initiated this, and now I’m stuck pulling teeth to drag the convo forward?

I’d get it if there was no interest, but I only match with people who liked me first, and this happens consistently.

What’s the deal with replying but putting in zero effort? Is this just the default now?
