CalDigit DisplayPort 2.0 to HDMI 2.1 - Fails to Work on Reboot or Wake From Suspend until Unplugged and plugged back in

I bought this adapter to use with my HTPC, as the GPU inside only supports CEC over the DP outputs.

It works great except on reboots and on resume from suspend I have to unplug and plug it back end to get video output.

I'm running Kodi on Linux if that helps at all, but I'm curious to know if there's a workaround or solution for this?
