Wanting highlights but dyed hair black

hey guys! about a year ago i got blonde highlights on my black asian hair, and then i dyed it back to black at a salon and now that its summer im feeling like the highlights again. however i dont know the logistics of getting blonde highlights over my dyed black hair, and if it would cause more trouble for the salon and result in it costing more. however, i have noticed that the black dye which was jet black with blue undertones has faded a lot and im starting to see lighter strands of hair which are likely my old highlights. so maybe its possible that the dye is easily lifted. before i make an appointment can any people with experience or hairstylists let me know anything helpful? thanks guys 🩷
