Opinion on being selfish in religion

I've never hear anyone but me say this I think it's selfish how people run to god when things happen in the world like right now with the wars happening and things it's like oh now you care about God I also believe anyone who ask God for things is selfish to he did a lot for us like ur really asking for more after the guy gave u life? It's not attacking 😞 just an opinion what do you guys think? Lmk!🤔.
