Game better with controller?

Hi guys, I'm a new player on PC and I feel really frustrated with movement. It feels hard to actually control my dash, I've tried both control schemes and both of them feel clunky. I don't play any other RTA games so maybe thats it but is the game better on controller? I've never connected a controller to my PC before so I don't know how difficult it is but would be willing to try because I can't keep dying to dashing into attacks and getting stuck on traps that I can't move off of.
