Dumb question but. Who is the ACTUAL chosen one?

Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan fully believed it was Anakin. But not the council. Or more specifically, Windu & Yoda. “a prophecy, that misread, could have been”

not to mention all the stuff Yoda learned at the end of CW S6. To my memory, yoda learns that it’s another Skywalker, not Anakin. (I could be remembering wrong)

Maul also refers to Luke as the chosen one in Rebels. In his death scene. He talks to Obi-Wan & senses that Kenobi is on tattooine because he’s guarding someone important. Then right before his death, maul said “tell me? Is he the chosen one?” & Kenobi agrees.

Not to mention one wouldn’t have “brought balance” without the other. Luke didn’t kill Palpatine, Vader did. But Vader wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t see his son, the only connection he has left of padme. A true jedi, not the corrupted Jedi of ages old. So the way I see it. It’s 50/50 on who it actually is. Altho I could just be way off.
