My bread doesn't go bad anymore? Location or advancement in production (or both)?

Ever since I moved to Arizona from Indiana, I noticed my bread doesn't go moldy as quickly (or honestly at all). I assumed that it was due to the aridity but I've seen some people from my hometown in IN saying the same thing so now I'm wondering if I'm missing something. I still think dryness but I'm happy to hear some answers.
