Picking a team when Europe doesn't even want you around

I'm getting into the sport more and I want to pick a European team to follow. The problem is I'm half Romani. My mother's side of the family moved to the states mainly because of racism. Not sure how to pick a team when the fanbses for most teams are likely going to be standoffish at best.
