35 years old, no background in science. What are my chances?

🔮 What Are My Chances?

I'm 35 years old, living in Québec. I have a bachelor's degree in business and currently work in IT/cybersecurity, with several certifications in the field.

However, I’ve decided that I want to become a physician. Medicine has always interested me, and I'm now ready to make the career change.

My R score was quite low (around 16–17) when I finished CEGEP back in 2012.

From what I've researched, it seems that one of the most realistic pathways for someone like me would be to:

Enroll in a bachelor's degree in biology (ideally at a Quebec university). Achieve a strong GPA (ideally 4.0+). Apply to medical schools once eligible. Questions

Is this really a viable plan, or am I missing important steps?

Are there specific universities or programs that are better suited for someone in my situation?

Would it help to take science prerequisites at the undergraduate level before applying to a bio program?

How do medical schools evaluate someone with an older R score but a strong new GPA?

Any advice or guidance from those who’ve gone through a similar transition would be truly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
