Question about alt board/alt game?

I logged into my alt board after about a 3 week hiatus. And while my main board was in the middle of the partner event, my alt board is on the digging event. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a reason for this? I don’t really mind I’m just so curious! Not sure if it matters, but my alt board is an Amazon fire tablet.
