Book about girl who's bestfriend drowns

Hi, I'm looking for this book I saw in middle school so before 2012-2016. The main character and her bsf both have a crush on the same guy who I think is also a close friend of theirs. The Mc and the bsf decide to draw straws or something similar to who asks the guy to prom I think? Or out on a day. The Mc rigs it so the bsf wins, and I think the boy and the bsf end up dating. The bsf is a competitive swimmer and could hold their breath for a freakishly long time, I think it was like 5 mins or something crazy maybe it was 2 that seems more realistic. Anyways one of the scenes was the swim coach got the bsf to resurface bc she was scared she drowned when she was holding her breath so it was implied the bsf could hold her breath for longer. I think the Mc might have been named Maya or smth similar and the bsf Serena or Sabrina? I could be off with that but I keep thinking about the book for some reason and qnat to find it.
