The most gentle heart break I’ve experienced

I fell in love with someone who is from another country. He has made me feel so loved, special, and worthy of so much. He made me see my own future. He pushed me to do better and I did. He encouraged my success and I succeeded. Today he sat me down and told me we needed to be apart. He said he has to think of his parents. He said I will be here forever but he will only stay here for 5 more years, and he can’t let me have romantic feelings for him. He has to be a better man and that includes not stopping me from my own life and future which he cannot be a part of because he needs to go home. I’m broken. He’s still my friend, and I have to see him at mutual gatherings. But this is the most gentle heart break. It almost hurts more because I know he’s good. I’m just in shambles.
