Stuck in retail for 10+ years, want to leave to pursue my future and education, but feel my life is wasted because of being in retail. Is my life over? Am I already a failure?

TW: Anxiety / Depression

Hello everyone, I want to say that I am a failure. I've been working in retail for over 10 years of my life, almost 20 years. While it was initially a means to sustain myself, temporarily it has become the only thing I have, as I have held various positions in the retail store, including working in Carts, serving as a cashier, and currently serving as a loss prevention associate. My time in retail is up. I don't want to be in retail anymore; heck, I don't belong there anymore. At the same time, I have been attending college to pursue an associate's degree. Then I went for my bachelor's, thinking to myself that education is a great asset for me, and then I obtained an Aerospace degree (not an engineering degree, but it includes STEM subjects).

Anyway, while I was pursuing my master's, I reignited a childhood dream of mine of me wanting to work for NASA and its partners, working on real-life Star Wars programs like Rockets, super-fast planes and all. As a Star Wars fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And thought to myself, Aerospace is where I want to go, it's my industry, I found what I was looking for. However, it was something I started to notice as I graduated with my Master's. I've been receiving rejection letters like crazy, to the point that it's unheard of. And from that I have been getting depression, making me feel worthless and that I think I have wasted my life, a failure.

So, with a certain amount of time, I found out the truth, I don't have an engineering degree, and yes, that is true I do lack that. I felt destroyed, with many people criticizing me everywhere I went, including my brother, who called me "Loser for Life" and all that. I am a failure; there are things I didn't know about, and I am still learning to this day, including about myself.

So, with that I thought that I am going to have to do what I can to start a new journey for myself and get the Engineering degree I need to go for NASA. It's a lifelong dream of working for NASA, and I want to make my goals a reality. However, I'm unsure how I can achieve this on limited funds, given that my other degrees are already in place. Am I making the right decision or the wrong decision?

I don't know if I am venting on here or not, but I feel lost in a depression, and want to get back on my feet. Is my life over?
