2001 escape 3.0 oil pressure light blinking and staying on at low idle when warm. No bad engine noises, car runs great. Blinks less in park than drive

I have read that the oil sender going bad on this model is super common, I've purchased a new one but will get the pressure checked tomorrow. if I'm not hearing any noises would I be stupid to drive to the shop tomorrow?
