Is it just me or does ibotenic acid feel like it turns off part of your brain?
I can't seem to figure ibotenic acid out. I know some people say they use it as a stimulant, but my experience doesn't match. It kind of feels like a stimulant at first the way my thoughts begin to speed up.. but unlike a real stimulant I don't find it easier to do deep thinking. If anything the opposite.
My theory is that ibotenic acid, as a glutamate analog, is creating interference that stops normal nmda transmission. That could be why it feels so much like a nmda antagonist like ketamine, even though it's an nmda agonist. My ability to think and remember go way way down when on the stuff. I wish I understood the people who say it's like amphetamine to them but anecdotally this is how my experience is with ibotenic acid every time
