Update 2: Brad Gets Defensive

Word got around. Brad was not pleased.

He stopped talking to me entirely, but I’ve heard through the grapevine that he’s been telling people I’m “conniving” and “political.” Apparently, in his version of events, I “threw him under the bus” to curry favor with leadership.

He even said—get this—that I used him to elevate my career.

Yes. The guy who tried to hijack my work is now saying I used him.

I ignored it at first. But then, he pulled a petty move: he removed my name from a shared internal document related to rollout logistics and replaced it with his own initials.

That document is visible to upper management.

Luckily, I noticed within 24 hours and immediately documented the change (screenshots and version history, thank you Google Docs). I brought it to Maria and asked, “How would you like me to handle this?”

She told me to forward everything to HR. She said, “Let’s see if Brad still thinks this is about politics.”
