Misunderstood Relationship due to past traumas

I'm 28F, and this is my first post here in Reddit. Currently I'm going through some misunderstandings with my bf of 8 months, we're the same age and met through bumble.

Yesterday he suddenly dropped this huge bomb about not seeing a future in our relationship and can't see us getting married, because I was too quiet, submissive and we don't have the same hobbies. He says it this felt more like companionship than a relationship, and that really hurt me. Tbh I'm not like that. I've been around 10 years of bad childhood with my parents, especially my mom. She would scold and beat me, chase me and bang on the door, throwing mug on the floor when she's having a bad day. It never stops until I apologise to her, keep everything clean and organise, get good results in school.

To survive that environment, I had to be obedient. I've always been a rebellious kid(in their terms) and have my own thoughts(not traditional like them). I didn't realise that I was acting the same way with my bf and it hurt him. He wasn't able to understand me and what I was thinking, what I want.

I felt disappointed in myself, for hurting the relationship. I wanted to change and told him that I'm not truly like that, it's just the trauma that I was dealing with and I'm willing to work things out. His parents are separated and his last ex cheated on him. So i can understand why he's being distrustful and pessimistic.

I feel that misunderstandings are common around any humans, family, friends, or coworkers. But lately he just keep saying that he needs time to think about it. I asked to talk but he says he's tired. Then I told him that it's ok I'll do the talking, he can listen when he's ready. He agreed and I explained everything, why I'. acting this way, my childhood, and that I plan to improve and not stay in fear forever.

Atm I'm feeling very anxious and devastated. Because I think that this is a healthy relationship, I felt safe and happy, and it would work if we communicate, talk things out, and decide how to move forward in this.

I'm not sure if he's willing to give this another chance. I hope he does.

Sorry the long spam I just really needed a place to vent. Thanks for anyone who reads this.
