I give up
Second time trying to address my mother in law's behaviour- overstepping and crossing boundaries during our pregnancy and after baby was born (baby is 16 months now).
We're just met with more of the same - excuses and deflection, "confusion", refusal to acknowledge or accept, guilt tripping and making it about her. But now with added "I don't understand what I've done wrong", "when I last saw you, you said I could visit", "I took on board what you said last time".
How do you communicate with someone who can't or won't listen to what you're telling them? Who doesn't think they've done anything wrong? Who is just carrying on with the same behaviour you tried to address before but denies any wrongdoing?
Honestly, I give up.
