My therapist wants to reschedule again.
My therapist asked me to reschedule again. I understand life happens, but I am starting to feel really self-conscious about it. It's averaging 1 out of every 3 times.
The thing is I think it's all really legitimate and that maybe I don't fit well in her schedule. She took on a new job last year, but she said she was going to stay affiliated with the clinic and continue to see some of her clients. We shifted to every other week and virtual sessions.
She sees me later in the day, and usually from her home. And when we reschedule, it's usually during the day and I think she's fitting me in during her breaks at her other therapy job.
Before we went virtual, she'd need to reschedule a lot due to illness, lately it's been either unspecified or family stuff.
Given the history of her keeping me as a client during her job change, the odd hours we meet as a result, I think the realities of life are setting in.
I think she genuinely feels bad, but I'm feeling like a burden. Now on days that I have an appointment, I feel anxious, knowing there is probably a good 30 % chance we won't be meeting. And even when we do as scheduled, I'm starting to feel anxious when I get the confirmation email with the meeting link, because I'm worried that the entire time as wonderful and friendly as she is, that it's a massive inconvenience seeing me.
She's good and I feel comfortable opening up to her, if i stopped seeing her, I don't know if i can handle starting with a new therapist right now. I know i should bring this up when I see her again, but I don't know if i can. My thought is maybe I can ask if there is a time or day that would be easier for her to make work? I'm just not sure what the best way to bring it up would be.
