How I Automated My Client Onboarding and Freed Up Hours Each Week

Like many of you, I have taken advantage of the resources availiable with AI now more than just a buzzword. As a solo practitioner, I have often felt overwhelmed by the all the roles I have to play: marketing/sales, admin, operations, etc.. Workflows - writing down the process, formalizing it, and sticking it to it has been great for self-discipline. However, automation has really keep me afloat and allowed me to delegate much of the work that I normally wouldn't have to do so I can focus on what this business is about - accounting, tax, and client advisory on all things business (service industry specifically).

I have read alot of your posts and have wondered how many are just winging it on a daily basis rather than a structured approach to their workday. As I mentioned, I wanted to share something that really helped me as a service provider: building an automated onboarding workflow. It combines a checklist with automation (welcome emails, folder setup, CRM triggers) and internal controls.

Anyone who has worked with Zapier, or other similar platforms knows how tedious and time-coming that can be if you're not experienced. Such things are better left to people like me who not only enjoy that kind of work, want to do more of it!

I believe you will find my work to be both budget-friendly, if you're just starting out, and time-saving if you stick to it. For me, It’s been a game-changer for saving time and creating a more professional client experience. If anyone’s building their SOPs, I can share my approach or example steps.

Would love to hear how others handle this!
