Do the no-tolerance moments go away?
Hello. 28 year old male two months or so on Mounjaro (0.25). I was switched after three months on Ozempic (0.5) caused total gastro paralysis in me. I have felt marginally better on Mounjaro but am experiencing recurring issues... Mostly I am trying to gauge if this is normal (nothing to be done), not normal (here's some tips) or not normal (consider a new medication).
I'll note I have shared all this with my doc and he's not exactly compassionate- said "you can tape your mouth shut if you'd prefer, it does the same thing as the shot!"
Very randomly but mostly every week I will have a day with absolutely no hunger. If I have food in my system when this hits, I am immediately nauseous. If not, I will feel fine but I will go 48 hours with no appetite. If I eat anything (anything) during this time I will be mega nauseous. I burp like I drank a 6-pack (including on empty!) I throw up every 2-3 hours. Even if like today it was literally a piece of bread and a glass of v8, I will be bedbound with nausea. Exercise and different foods take no effect. I drink as much water as I can. And then it passes after 1-2 days. Sometimes THC will punch through everything and let me eat but often not. And even then, the food just sits.
I'm worried about this meaning my body is averse to GLP-1 meds in general. I really want to get my a1c to a pre-diabetic range before I hop off it but I have been very very sad for six months now (fear of needles doesn't help...!)
Any advice, perspective or similar stories much appreciated!
