Swimming issues and bugs. Bad experience with Amazfit overall

Device Support ⌚️

Hello,

u/Amazfit-Bryce

First let me say that I have done lots of swims with the Suunto Race, Suunto Vertical, Coros Pace 3, Garmin Forerunner 935, Garmin Forerunner 955, Garmin Forerunner 965, Garmin Fenix 6X Pro, Garmin Instinct 2X and Garmin Fenix 7X Pro.

I have been testing the Amazfit T-Rex 3 and the Amazfit Balance and I cannot say the experience with Amazfit is good enough for swimming yet.

Issues:

- The swimming lap count is incorrect while swimming on pool. It is ok after the swim but not during. When you arrive at the end of the pool, you need to wait for some few seconds until the watch refreshes the real count. It is like the algorythm is not taking in account the accelerometers of the watch or that is not fast enough refreshing the real count (not as fast as the others)

I'm attaching the following capture (taken underwater in a pool), from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3SgU4peoXc (In Spanish, BUT this is exactly the issue Amazfit watches have). Here you can see the real value that is OK (Suunto Race), and the bad one (Amazfit T-Rex 3) which still needs some seconds for the refresh.

As said, the Balance has the same issue and this can be easily check with a watch from other brand side by side. With that simple test, you can see how bad is Amazfit with the lap count.

- The watches do not say the distance you are doing. Only the laps. You need to count mentally the distance. This should be easy to fix, but for that the lap count should be fixed too.

- There's a notification for the lap count but it vibrates so low that is imposible to feel the alarm underwater on your wrist.

- There's no alarm by distance. I.E, every 500 meters. This is especially important in open water and should be there for both modes (not only for pool). You can only select trainning alerts by time and not distance for open water, and the vibration of the alert should be important, since it's likely you are also wearing a wetsuit.

- Last. Structured workouts are missing in swimming. Explained very well in a different thread here. Just to take it in account : https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1lkvu1q/structured_workouts_are_missing_in_swimming/

All the other watches do all these things very good. With the special mention to Garmin.

I'm overall happy with the watch, don't take me bad. But I have sent feedback through the application using extended logs (several times, and I know that the laps issue has been explained for more people and not only me), and the issues are still there.

Swimmers and triathletes is an important piece, and we will be very happy is all of these things could be fixed (and since other watches do them fine).

Thanks
