Help P14s won’t charge

I've had my P14s thinkpad for a year and a half. For the past week I've had to hold down the power button for 10 seconds then hit the power button again to turn it on. Once it powered on it worked fine. It's now completely dead despite being almost fully charged when I last shut it down. When I plug the charger in that I've checked with a multimeter the charge indicator light doesn't turn on and the laptop doesn't power. I've disconnected the battery and reconnected it to no avail. Any suggestions?
