Is it normal to have a hyperemesis episode even after abstaining from weed?

Question/Info

I posted in here about a day ago to say that I got diagnosed with c. diff during my most recent stay in the hospital. I'm trying to figure out if my problem has always been c. diff, or if I'm dealing with that and CHS. Basically, I had a hyperemesis episode about three weeks ago that landed me in the ER. Hot showers didn't help (I know this doesn't immediately discount the possibility of CHS), nausea medications didn't help, not even ones that I see recommended for CHS. My blood work showed very strong indications that I was fighting an infection, but they couldn't figure out what (if anything) I was infected with. I got put on an antibiotic because my urine came back infected and I rapidly improved after that, but they told me to stop the antibiotic on the third day because my urine sample ended up just being contaminated.

I completely stopped cannabis consumption the moment I got sick, and didn't continue when I got better. I have not had a single hit of weed in about three weeks. Regardless, I got sick again. Exact same symptoms, I woke up feeling fine but by about 4pm I was in hell. Went to the ER as soon as my roommate got home from work. They gave me capsaicin and Haldol, no relief at all. The only medication that sort of worked was metoclopramide, which to me signals this may still possibly be CHS (though I have a history of gastroparesis symptoms even before ever touching weed). Again, blood work shows signs of an infection. This time they took a stool sample and it came back positive for c. diff. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I think I had c. diff during my last hyperemesis episode too, because my symptoms were exactly the same. The only difference is I recovered much more quickly this time - I got sick Thursday afternoon and was discharged from the hospital about 24 hours after onset of hyperemesis. Last time, I was out of commission for five days. Is it normal to fully recover from hyperemesis then have another episode despite consuming no weed? Everyone always says stopping guarantees you won't have symptoms again. Is it just that I need to wait longer for the cannabinoids to fully clear from my system?

Any advice is very appreciated. I'm thinking there's still a pretty significant chance this was CHS. But my diagnosis of c. diff has only served to make me more confused. I will be continuing my break from weed until at least mid-September. It's just not worth it to me anymore. Something shifted in my brain and I feel almost no desire to smoke anymore. The misery is too fresh in my mind to risk ever feeling like that again. Still, I'd like other's thoughts on this whole situation. I read a lot of posts on this subreddit about other people who also ended up with c. diff but all of them seem to have key details that differ from my situation.
