AITAH For not doing exactly what my boyfriend wants

Hello to the community, thank you all for reading.

Just needs some advice on this one.

My boyfriend and I are abroad and are sharing a flat and a vehicle to cut down expenses. Lately, our car had a battery issue and needed to be replaced. So 2 days ago, one of us decided to go to the garage while the other would prepare meals for lunch and dinner (to take to work.) So I stayed back and cook.

Now since the car got "fixed", the rear lights were staying on constantly, even when the keys were off. I saw this issue only during the evening. So I had to call the garage the next day to ask what was wrong.

Now my partner is not a morning person; he stays in bed late in the morning. Even tho he's the one who met the mechanics yesterday, I'm the one calling back today to ask what could be wrong. I try to stay very diplomatic and kind on the phone, and the mechanic says, "it might concern a fuse or the electrics of the car, it might be outside of my knowledge." I reported it to my boyfriend, who was not happy to hear that and said I handled it "poorly".

I find this rude from him, but i continue with my day while he still in bed, and had to do a couple of errands. Now when I went to the garage, the car battery was out. So I called back the mechanic, and this time explained that this couldn't happen with a new battery + buying a new battery and beiing out of juice already just made lose 50% of its potential, which the mechanic agreed and offered to get it remplaced. So after managing to grasp some neighbours who had a rental car, and manage to jump start my car, I went on my way to the mechanic to get the issue fixed (new battery + tighten up some cables connecting on the battery so that the rear lights don't stay on) and came back home.

Came back to my boyfriend in bed to explain the situation, and I still get comments saying I handled the situation poorly, my first phone call was not good enough, and that he doesn't like my methods. He said I should have mentioned on my first call that I was an "unsatisfied customer".

I think he is being rude over the situation. I also see it as a red flag if I handle this situation this way and that it's not at his convenience. Was I the one not handling the situation properly? What would you guys do ? AITAH ?
