le folklore français... ça existe??

hi everyone!! i'm looking to do some research into french folklore (think local legends, vampire-type creatures, werewolves -- the likes of which are often found in eastern europe). other than historical figures like gilles de rais, it seems like there aren't really too many folksy "warning kids not to get lost in the woods" or "don't be a heretic" archetypes. but i could be wrong! please educate me.

j'cherche les ressources en anglais et français, je parles les deux :)

merçiiii!!!
