My parents ruined my social life
Before you continue reading this, I understand that parents only want what’s best for their kids. But up to now, all my parents have done is scrutinize my social skills and forbidding me from making mistakes that teens my age usually make. For starters, for as long as I can remember, I’ve never been allowed to go out. I used to live in a terrible neighborhood and my parents were scared of something happening to me. So I always thought the outside world was scary. I was a major wuss and a crybaby. Even ladybugs scared me because my parents would tell me that everything was dangerous, they even got me to be scared of butterflies. When I went to middle school, I was everyone else’s punching bag. This only made my parents think they were right and convinced me not to socializing with anyone in my school. When I went was a freshman, I had more friends, actual friends. But my parents never let me go out without giving them piles of information on them. They would stalk my friends socials, check my texts with them, and even my dad would make fun of them if they were “too weird” this was all mostly my dad, my mom was more overbearing. My dad catcalls the girls at my school and they think that I’m just as bad as him, even my friends don’t want to be around when my dad picks me up
