Who wants the bad news first?
Guys,
Remember that thing we did? We thought we were doing something good?
Wrong.
We were played, boys.
What do I mean? How about the plausibility of this: do we know how we came by random bits of critical information? We don’t. I have a problem with that.
We know there was a degree of technical savvy involved, which rules out…us.
Who benefits? Approximately half of the involved number.
Look at a list of what happened: One relationship is completely derailed. A potential long term friendship is torched The “good thing we did” was undone by the same sequence of events that made it happen by ultimately reintroducing the bad elements while also crippling the ability of positive forces to re-engage and do anything about it if in place to do so.
Do I think anyone planned something like this? No. Too many moving parts. However, someone with a desire to feel or seem bad might claim ownership. As might anyone with the same drive to claim power or dominance.
Can this be fixed? Unlikely. Unless there is some extreme coordination. Which seems to be actively discouraged across the board.
No coincidences.
