Taoism changed my life. So I created an AI to share it with the world.
This is both a personal journey and a little tool I made to share something that helped me a lot.
A while back, I was burnt out, constantly jumping between systems, planners, apps — always trying to “fix myself” and be more disciplined.
Then I came across a single sentence that kinda cracked me open:
“The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.”
That one line — it hit me. Like, maybe I’d been chasing the wrong kind of control all along.
I started reading more about Taoism. At first it felt vague. But slowly, something clicked.
The idea of wu wei — “non-forcing” — taught me that maybe discipline isn’t about pushing harder. Maybe it’s about finding balance. Letting go of extremes. Moving with, not against.
It didn’t make me lazier — weirdly, I started doing things more consistently. Just with less inner war.
I’m also a developer, so I built something small: DAOAI — a little AI you can talk to, and it replies with Taoist-style reflections.
You can ask it stuff like “I feel stuck” or “I keep messing up my habits,” and it’ll answer in a way that feels more like a wise friend than a to-do list.
It’s not perfect. It’s not for everyone. But it’s helped me. Maybe it’ll help someone else.

Would love to know if any of you have tried applying Taoism to habit-building or just… life in general.
