Did weapon carry weight increase after the fishing update?

This might be a dumb question and I didn't think to ask about this until now but, when I got on the game the day the update completed, I noticed my carry weight had gone way up. I use Arms Keeper's since I have a variety of different weapons but primarily I have heavy guns. Until the update, they all had a very low weight that was always less than three if I remember correctly. Now most of them sit at between 5 to 7+ pounds each. I searched the release notes for anything about this and I went through my perk cards but I haven't been able to find anything that indicates something changed. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here but I haven't been able to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated because my carry weight keeps going up and it's getting harder and harder to bring it down.
