I just bought my first truck

Hello - I just purchased my first vehicle, it's a 2009 F-150 XL. I'm not super mechanical and trying to learn some about working on trucks and thought this was a good start. First place I want to start is a simple spot and that is changing the stock headlight bulb which appears to be halogen to a brighter bulb that will light up more of the road as I live in a wooded rural area with alot of deer. Hoping someone has a bulb recommendation and is it as simple as unplugging the old halogen bulb and plugging in a new one? Or does it require an assembly swap?
