Returning after a 2 year hiatus. What’s the current direction of the game?
Currently downloading the game on my pc after a 2 year hiatus. With 3k hours in the game, leaving was a love/hate decision. It wasn’t that OW2 was a failure, but that it felt gutted and trimmed to bank on OWL making billions of dollars for some reason.
How is the arcade and workshop community? I saw it start to die with significantly less lobbies being played and the workshop tools were abandoned during the transition (only put in the sequel by generous devs). Friends I made in these modes currently say 1 month to 2 years since last logged into battlenet :(.
How is the offtank role? I’m a ball lover so the transition was super rough. I think I last logged in after the K-pop event (that I loved) and I’m glad I don’t have to suffer the masochism of solo tanking anymore. Is this game still just “pray our tank doesn’t do anything but bullet sponge” or is the chaos of OW1 returning?
How casual is the new mode? Are there still hard metas? I hated how sojourn, soldier, and other hit scans were needed when playing dps or you were throwing. Can I run gankrat or ballrat without getting flamed?
And finally, did Reinhardt get his speedo skin? This is crucial information.
