A reading of OUTSIDERS continues
My first exploration of the "Dawn of DC" tales continues this evening with a reading of OUTSIDERS #7. Unless the cover art is some sort of a cruel bait-and-switch for us readers, it's looking like Elijah Snow won't be around long enough to see the pages of issue #8.
Been a fan of PLANETARY for decades and I harbor certain misgivings about saying goodbye to Elijah Snow. I'll still take comfort in Jackson Lanzing's words when he wrote that it's "never the end" but it's a cold comfort indeed. Been enjoying OUTSIDERS, even if not as much as I had hoped that I would, but it's still an 11-issue run, so, there's still time for it to stick the landing.
Large chunks of what happens in the first 6 issues beggars belief, and the big reveal involving Jakita Wagner at the end of issue #6 was enough to make my head spin a lil bit, nonetheless I give the editorial team (Berbey in particular) a world of credit for taking risks and allowing certain storytelling decisions to appear in the pages.
