REALIZATION: removing the right analog cap changes my grip and makes the Legion Go FEEL much lighter.
This might sound crazy, but hear me out: I am in love with my Legion Go, but before having it, I used to play stuff on an Android tablet with a cheap telescopic Bluetooth gamepad, and really miss how light that setup used to be. Out of nostalgia, I dug that gamepad out, and actually considered getting a Y700 to reproduce that feeling, but then I just look over the Go which has about the same size and thought "hey, maybe they fit together?" and guess what, they did fit. I gripped the go with that old cheap gamepad attached and INSTANTLY felt like "Woah this is MUCH LIGHTER!". Puzzled, I compared the weight of the gamepad and the Go controllers and there wasn't much of a difference, they felt about the same. I kept toggling between the two, very puzzled because the difference in the subjective weight feeling was consistent and huge.
Then I realized: the layout of the right analog as different in the older tablet gamepad, as it was above the XYAB facebuttons, and quite more distant to them. Because of this, the palm of my hand was on a much lower and more comfortable and stable grip to properly sustain the weight of the Go, while with the native controllers the position of the right analog below and very near the A button made me instinctively adjust my grip by moving my palm more to the side and up, so that my thumb could rest diagonally on the X and A buttons while staying clear from the analog cap, thus making me gold the weight of the device in non-optimal weird angle that made the whole unit feel much heavier than it needed to feel.
Then I remembered that the right analog cap is removable, I took it off, and that's it, the Go feels almost as light as it felt with the cheap ipega gamepad. I wonder if I can get a much smaller or low profile cap 3d printed. What a weird thing to take so long to motive.
