Does buy Critter Cooker for gold bullions worth it?

I recently returned to the game after Season 5 and while playing I saw Critter Cooker on another player in Camp. I like the thing because it generates a lot of cooked meat for my carnivorous character.

The question is...

I don't have this item yet. Just like many others from previous seasons. Is it worth buying this item or can you advise what is better to buy first, I don't know, maybe a coffee machine or something?
