AITA for ignoring my best friends text for breaking my trust in her?

I (18m) had a very emotionally intense friendship with my best friend. let’s call them Alex (19f). It genuinely felt like we were dating. I told them I loved them at one point, but they didn’t take it seriously. Right after, they hooked up with multiple people and pulled away. It shattered me.

Eventually, I tried to give them another chance as friends. We were so close, it felt like we were dating but to them it was “platonic”. During that time, I started talking to someone else; Taylor and realized I had actual feelings for her. I pulled away emotionally from Alex after that.

Then randomly, Alex told me they loved me and didn’t want to lose me, right when I had already started mentally and emotionally moving on after years of waiting on them. I didn’t want to hurt them, but I also wasn’t going to lie to myself.

Right after that, Alex brought up this guy Chris (a situationship of one of my friends), and accused me of making up something I said about him to spy on her. I had vented about Chris in private before, but it wasn’t some setup, I genuinely didn’t know they were even talking. I denied it, and after that, Alex just ghosted me. No warning, no explanation.

2–3 days later, they randomly texted me “hey babe 🥺👉👈” like nothing happened. No apology. No acknowledgment of how they treated me. Just an invite to hang out like things were normal.

I’ve been ignoring them since, but part of me feels guilty because I used to always be the one to fix things

AITA for dropping them silently and not replying after everything?
