Harry stared open-mouthed at Dobby. He was wearing dozens of hats, belts, scarves, jackets, and other clothes. But the sheer amount of clothing wasn’t why Harry was so shocked. The house-elf was dressed head to toe in Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Prada, Balenciaga, Chanel, Versace, and Dior.

Harry stared open-mouthed at Dobby. He was wearing dozens of hats, belts, scarves, jackets, and other articles of clothing. But the sheer amount of clothing wasn’t why Harry was so shocked. The house-elf was dressed head to toe in Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Prada, Balenciaga, Chanel, Versace, Dior, and other luxury fashion brands.

“Uhh… Dobby?”

“Yes, Harry Potter Sir?”

“Where did you get all of that stuff?”

“Dobby has been taking all the clothes that Miss Hermione is leaving out in the Gryffindor common room!” the house-elf said happily.

“Uh-huh.” Harry nodded slowly, and then left to go talk to Hermione. 

He found her studying in the common room. “Hey, Hermione, have you been leaving designer clothes out in our common room?”

“Yes, I have.” Hermione answered, with her nose still in her notebook.

“Why?” Harry asked.

Hermione paused her studying to look up at him. “So, you know how I’ve been collecting donations for S.P.E.W., right?”

Harry nodded. He had seen her going around the common room selling badges to people. 

“Well, I’m using those funds to purchase clothes so I can free the Hogwarts house elves.”

“I hadn’t realized you were getting enough donations to afford designer stuff.” Harry said. From what he had seen, most people only donated just enough to stop Hermione from badgering them.

Hermione grimaced slightly. “To be honest, initially, I wasn’t getting as much money as I’d have liked. I was planning to purchase wool, and knit the clothes myself, so as to stretch the Galleons.” Hermione’s face then lit up with an excited smile. “But, then I reached out to Sirius, and he gave me access to his Gringotts vault, and told me I could use as much money as I needed!”

“Okay… But did you really need to get designer clothes for them?"

Hermione scowled. “You don’t think they deserve to have nice things? They’ve only ever worn rags for their entire lives!”
