text about driving without a license..?

location: california

i got a text from a random number with my area code, telling me what i did was "illegal and irresponsible on multiple counts".

i dont drive often, i took my new car out maybe 4 times. only around the block, and to the dutch bros drive through. i live with a single parent who travels for work, so there's no one around to be the 18+ licensed driver with me. (i'm 20.)

i only have a permit at the moment. i live in a very busy crowded city, so my behind the wheel test isnt for another month.

ive never heard of someone getting a threat text?? i cant tell if its my family members trying to scare me out of taking my car out every now and then. or if theyre cracking down on catching unlicensed drivers in my area.. i have no clue. but a text?????

the message included listed offenses, like uninsured car and no registration (which i do have.. so that confused me even more..) the text ended with "be prepared to face the full force of the legal system." havent heard anything since. no police at my door, nothing in the mail, no phone calls.

should i be worried or is this not a legit thing?

just to clarify i will not be taking my car anywhere until after im licensed because i am in fact very paranoid :p
