Minimally displaced left fibula
Hello everyone!
I (20m) suffered a leg injury running on June 12th and saw no swelling or bruising but followed up with a doctor and then a week and a half later on June 24th with an x ray was diagnosed with a minimally displaced fracture of the left tibula. I as of today (June 29th) have been trying to keep as much weight off of the bone as possible and am in a walking boot and crutches. I have a follow up appointment with the doctor 3 weeks after the initial diagnosis on July 15th.
My question is about a week later on July 21st I am flying to Boston for some sight seeing and will be walking around a lot on the injured leg. Will this be ok? Will I need a scooter? Do I put myself at risk of further injury and possibly even surgery? I'm taking 5k IUs of vitamin D along with calcium but should I be doing anything different in my recovery that y'all can suggest? This is a trip of a lifetime but I don't want to fuck up my leg permanently to make it happen.
Should I take more than 5k IUs of vitamin d at this time?
Thanks in advance for the advice!
