Doma's character is so utterly interesting, along with being complex, and that makes him one of my favorites. One of the things I constantly think about (and am SO excited to see it get animated), is his final form before he meets his demise. His final form is called "Hoarfrost Lily Bodhisattva," a depiction of a prominent figure in Buddhism. By this form, he contradicts his earlier words. Doma expressed that he thought the ideals of heaven and hell were made up and that he was an atheist.

>"*It seems you are mistaken. Heaven and hell do not exist in this world. Those things don't exist at all. They're made up. Just human conceits. The reality is that even those who live upright and good lives meet with misfortune while the wicked act as they please*."

I think that Gotouge did this for two reasons.

1. **To represent his religious facade to his cult members**. When Doma was born, he lost his emotions at a young age from child exploitation from his parents. He was seen as a holy figure and was burdened with others problems. Over time, he believed that God won't help them, and was numb to everything eventually. Now that he's a demon, Doma uses that same religion that he was forced to believe in as a child to manipulate his cult members. He takes on the persona of a divine prophet, when in actuality, he couldn't care less about them. (Excluding Kotoha-- he had a fondness for her, but ultimately didn't care that much when she died.) This Bodhisattva is the visualization of his divinity, the role he had to play, and also represents his hypocrisy.

2.**To further emphasize his beliefs.** On the other hand, Buddhism does not have a religious authority. It's about living the right way, and Buddha was not a figure of authority like God, or Allah, he was a teacher. Along with that, Buddhism can also be considered a philosophy, not a religion. (It is technically both.) This can further emphasize with the belief that he is an Atheist, and only "follows" living the right way. How does he "follow" on the teaching of living the right way? Doma genuinely believed that he was doing a good thing by consuming humans, because he was rid of their sufferings.

Anyways, tell me what you think. I love to talk about him-any aspect of him is interesting. Again I'm excited for him to be animated
