should i stay or go

Hello everyone!

So i’ve been working with a healthcare company that provides caregiver services to clients.

I’ve been with them since april and have noticed some red flags? It is my 1st time doing caregiving experiences and working a “ big girl job “. I am 19.

About a month ago they called me in to “ shadow “ a client. Meaning just to see if the clients case fits me. When I arrived to the home i was immediately uncomfortable. There was stuff all over the house. There wasn’t even a place to sit. However that’s not what ultimately made me decide “ no “. The current caregiver was leaving to go work at a hospital. She shared with me that there is always relatives over ( mostly men), never talk/ ask siblings when mom isn’t available. because they’ll respond with an attitude or just ignore you. another red flag was that she told me was that some of the relatives have made inappropriate comments towards her. anyways i ended up saying no. The company wasn’t too happy-?

I messaged the supervisor on the case and she completely ignored me. No message or reply. I only have 1 case at the moment and have been trying to get another because the hours are low. The schedule manger pretty much told me, “ Well you’re already on the sign up sheet with the rest of the staff, you could always cover those cases. “ & “ Just so you know most of the cases we need coverage for are at home..”. To me this was her insinuating..last time you told us no so u don’t seem too reliable. Ever since then i haven’t been able to get another case. I have also signed up to cover another case and they just give it to someone else.

Another thing that bothers me is how unprofessional they are. I was supposed to work thursday because that’s what my schedules are like. However it wasn’t on my timesheet so i asked the supervisor on the case i was working on. i go into work at 1 pm and i asked her at 8 am. she told me “ hm that’s weird and no your schedule hasn’t been changed. just message the company and they should fix it”. Well anyways i checked in with the client jsut to make sure i am working and she told me i no longer work Thursdays. I had to find out from my client that my schedule was changed. So i messaged my supervisor and she said “ So sorry. there was a change. “ i found this out 5 minutes before i had to go into work.
