goofle photos and google takeout

i recently backed up my photos using google photos, and i want to ask if this is already safe? in case i lost my phone or smth, will i be able to access these photos again in a different device?

and what about google takeout, what exactly it is? i’ve been seeing post about people using both apps to back up their photos but i really don’t get how it works.

so far everything is fine with my experience with google photos but seeing people’s comments and posts makes me worried that instead of backing up my photos, i’ll just lost them (since i already deleted it on my phone)

thank you.
