Cheese for Simon and Beast Hunter?

I had the idea for a run using Simon's Bowblade and the Piercing Rifle. The problem is actually getting those things as soon as possible. I'm fairly confident in being able to kill Simon, but I definitely couldn't take out the beast hunter that drops the firing hammer badge. Does anyone know good cheese methods for the two?
