How do you not die in a team fight

I have been playing this game since 2 3 months and i have skill of a beginner the thing i want to know is how do i get out of the conjusted team fights .when i dive or endulge in a team fight even if i kill enemy i die afterwards especially playing as a fighter or jungler.
