Don't know if I'm improving or not?... any thoughts?

In Feb. I sprained my left ankle and had to wear a boot for 3 weeks, by mid March I presented pain in the back of my left knee, I could barely straighten out my leg and it was just awful to get out of the car or stand up straight. April 1st, boom ER, the pain was just shooting through my leg, got a CT, an MRI with and w/o contrast with the diagnoses of S1 radiculopathy: 1cm protrusion, left the ER with my calf cramped which was 24/7 for a month, it was just unbearable, the pain was mostly that and the back of my thigh. Tried PT 3 times from April til this past week and it did not help. Streches have helped a bit.. for the cramps took magnesium, potassium supplements, also did not help. Was not happy about the idea of getting a corticosteroids shot but got up the courage to do so mid June, they did actually 2 shots, one on L5 and th other S1, as the protrusion was touching both nerves. That helped 2 days and then pain returned with burning sensation in the back of the knee and buttocks pain. Today, I have been walking 3 days straight a mile and a half at a good pace although my leg gets tired and I get some discomfort in my hip joint left side as well.. the burning in the back of the knee is gone now for 3 days, but the pain in the buttocks is worsening and lumbar pain... has anyone had these similar symptoms, I don't know if this a good sign? I'm scheduled for my 2nd shot in 2 weeks, now going in between vertebrae L5 and S1, not so sure if I should get it.
