Buffalo board siding

This one’s a question for the adjusters in the group, two questions related to a weather related storm for the exterior of my home. To preface this I do have code coverage on my policy.

1.) roof is damaged at least to the point of repairing a few shingles. I have the old 1x8 planks and was told by a contractor that’s no longer code and technically if it comes to it to bring it up to code they need to replace the roof in the entirety?

2.) I have a home built in the late 50’s and from what I’ve seen is it has the old celltex/buffalo board (whatever it’s called) covered by aluminum siding covered by vinyl siding. Is there any code requirements pertaining to that as well? I’m also not sure if that is asbestos? Or if the aluminum siding would have lead paint?

Just trying to get my ducks in a row so I’m not being misguided by my insurance adjuster (ins company is the big red one)
