After second interview

Currently employed but I feel like the end is coming because of the budget cuts. I have not had any projects or work assigned in over a week. I completed a second interview with top management at a company about 3 weeks ago and heard nothing so I wasn’t expecting any response. I recently heard back from the recruiter basically saying “we received a lot of talented applicants and we’ll need another week to make a decision”. I tried to respond to the email and I got the automated email that she is out of the office till the approximate time she said she ll have a decision. I am just a little nervous and don’t know what to expect so I came to rant here. I know I just have to wait and keep applying but has anyone experienced anything similar? TIA
