Advice on approaching boys? :3

Soo now that i’m in college I wanna start exploring my options, though i’m not sure how to without the fear of “ew im not gay” or getting punched for dressing all pretty idk 😭

Not a huge worry since i live in a big lgbt friendly city but ive never dated so im not sure if I should let someone approach me or vice versa

(im running on the basis that they’re a total stranger)
