Does anyone feel that Madeye Moody's character was done dirty?

Discussion

The most significant time and the closest experiences we get with Moody are in the Goblet of Fire, in which he is not even himself, he is impersonated by Barty Crouch Jr. So in the end, even though Barty Crouch is doing his best Moody impression, we are still interacting with him most of the time.

Hence, I didn't develop any real connection with Alastor Moody. Personally, in Deathly Hallows, Hedwig's death feels sadder than Moody's because of this specific reason. And what's misaligned is that the book wants his death to have a much more significant impact on me as a reader than what it actually constitutes.
