Boyfriend Watching

Should I make my boyfriend keep watching this show with me? I love this show so much, but I'm so dumb and not media literate that none of the story ever bothered me. We're halfway into volume 2 and he doesn't like the animation, doesn't like the story, and I keep saying it will get better, but like.... does it, honestly? I know the animation gets better but I showed him a snippet from volume 4 and he said it still doesn't look good, and I hear SO much about how the story is bad. Should I just, stop? He says he will keep watching if I really want him to, but it seems like it'll just hurt to see how bad one of my favorite shows is when someone with media literacy watches it.
